french doors Double doors that have glass paneling the full length of the door. French doors typically have an active and a dummy handle, though on some French doors both handles move and are considered active.
handle set Consists of two door handles: an outside handle and an inside lever.
locking lever Handles that have a thumb turn lock on the lever itself.
passage handle Handles that have movable levers without locks.
set screw Also known as a retaining screw, it is the small screw that secures the door handle to the spindle. The set screw is usually located at the base of the handle. An Allen wrench is required to tighten and loosen the set screw.
snap ring Fastener that secures the door handle to the escutcheon plate while permitting rotation. The snap ring can be found on the back of the escutcheon plate. Snap ring plyers are required to install/remove the snap ring.
